With my ps4 I’m currently waiting for the ps5 pro, or the ps6

Absolutely not worth it! Those prices are insane. There was a day, where Xbox cost money to play online, but along came the PS3 with free online play! It's true! But with the PS4 Sony got greedy, I had PS+ for a year to try and give it a chance, but even then it wasn't worth it to me. Steam is STILL free to play online, and with the way of 'exclusives' going the way of the dodo, why wouldn't you move to PC gaming?

PS3 had Resistance 2 and 3...not sure if I misunderstood when he said he gave up on there ever being a sequel.

I'm hoping that for this new idea of an emulator for ps3 happening on ps5 would work either on disc or digital in store. Like how the Microsoft Store does with 360 games and all. Because whenever I play PS3 games via Streaming by Wi-Fi or Subscription, it's just better to me imo that discs are a better solution

Honestly, Sony should have kept the backward compatibility access to all Play Station Consoles after PS3. And PSN has no excuse for sold the PSP versions of Tekken 6 and Toy Story 3 when Xbox's Store had both games for the 360.

The ps5 version of sly cooper looks like the ps3 hd remaster if it didnt cut down on a lot of the cell shading outlining. At least to my eyes

please make the Playstation 1 versions of games online, like x men vs street fighter. it's much better than the arcade version.

They could do full backwards compatibility. But PS1 and PS2 games are playable almost on anything (PC, PSP, Vita, Android Phones…etc). It would cost them a lot. PS3 is the only one that makes sense to work on, given that PS3 emulation is still hard even on PC.

I wish they would let us purchase the ps3 version of red dead. The only version where the online ins't hacked. It won't happen, because Rockstar will want us to buy the ps4 version that doesnt have online play.

For me PS5s are at least twice the price I got my ps4 for at a similar point in its life cycle. Which is fine. Better tech, inflation, and all that. But I found an entry level gaming pc was a better investment for the type of games I play. Maybe GTA 6 will make me pull the trigger.

I have the money and decided it was better spent on a PS4 pro if I want to upgrade, I tried to think of what I could get on a PS5 that a PC couldn't get me and it was nothing I wanted, plus the themes on PS4 are too much fun. I played on my brothers PS5 and didn't like it as much as PS2-4 so that as well.

I dont believe Sony when they say its hard to emulate from cell processor etc blah blah blah....they could but they wont,they know what they're doing....dont trust them,its an excuse and they roll with it coz its making them money. Sony is a greedy corporation,they are not consumer friendly. Give me access to my ps3 & ps4 digital library and start making some bloody games for ps5. Rubbish company.

PS5 have backward compatibility with some game titles from PS1, PS2, PS4, PSP and PSV.

Wish they just told the truth : we are thinking of releasing backwards compatibility. Fully capable we just wanted to charge you again for games you already owned . We’re not sure if the ps5 can run emulation. But some kid can make it happen in a week .

Even if this is true, there's no chance in hell Sony lets you insert the disc to get a copy of the emulated game like Xbox. They'll just re-sell you the game you already own.

We need a playstation console that has - the ability to play PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 and PS5 games flawlessly - trophies for PS1 and PS2 games - an advanced trophy sorting feature - a trophy score feature that's like xbox's gamerscore feature because why not - more profile customisation options

Yeah... That's the only reason I would buy a damn PS5.

Why can't Sony emulate the PS3 while RPCS3 can do it without knowing the console's architecture, which Sony itself should be familiar with?

I don't need a ps3 emulator gate walled by their crappy subscription service when I can just rip the image of any ps3 game I buy with my cfw system and play them on my pc. I don't play online but Rpcs3 also has online multiplayer. What do you mean you need a very capable system to emulate ps3? My pc has a ryzen 3600 cpu 16gb ram and a gtx 1660 gpu and I have no issues running ps3 games and my specs are lower tier parts.

God of war was going to be my reason for buying the ps5. but GOW low key sucked. I hated fighting as that kid smh

I keep my ps3 on my desk for the simple reason that I dont have any other way to play my physical copies. If they get this working to where I can pop in my physical discs in my ps5, then I would be very very happy. It would actually convince me to get another ps5 specifically for my desk.

I just want Killzone 2 and MGS4 to be easily available.

Still waiting for the 30th anniversary console and controller. Its my dream SONY release 50k units of PS5 30th anniversary backward compatible console from ps1 to ps5, And just imagine you can inset UMD and Vita card.

I always thought they should create some sort of external disc drive that can play your ps3 discs with, that way they didn’t have to work on emulation and it meant it could test the waters in how many people bought it to see if it was worth them working on actual emulation over streaming as I do believe most ask for it but never use it even though I’m a big believer in it, as I believe everything I purchased on ps3 should’ve carried forward.

This has to be disc based otherwise it’s doomed to fail! Just stick a bit of money in the PlayStation plus to unlock backwards compatibility. Dont be a dick about this Sony, we want to use our own catalogue of games!

Not being able to put a PS3 disc into a PS5 to locally play - The Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection, God of War (III, Collection, Origins, & Ascension), MotorStorm, Super Stardust HD - has got to be one of the biggest failures in gaming preservation. They've had a console generation and a half to figure this out.

Probably only gonna be PS+/Streaming exclusive no doubt... Well they gave us an emulator, now if they could allow us to *keep the games*, then I will give them a round of applause. Streaming is a nice concept, but sony making that *THE ONLY WAY* to play the. is pretty stupid. Especially when you cant play them offline. (Which some of those games were offline only... go figure.)
